The report “Practices to Deal with Anxiety in Schools – A Study Case Involving 7 Countries” explores anxiety in school environments and the approaches adopted across seven European countries: Portugal, France, Greece, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, and Türkiye.
Developed within the framework of the European project WAI – Wellbeing@Artificial Intelligence, the study addresses the growing mental health challenges faced by students, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing use of digital technologies in education.
The report combines a theoretical overview of anxiety in educational settings with an analysis of the educational systems of the partner countries and research conducted with education professionals. Its main goal is to identify challenges, strategies, and good practices used in schools to support students’ emotional wellbeing. The project also highlights the potential of Artificial Intelligence to support mental health in education by promoting ethical and innovative tools that help teachers and schools identify signs of anxiety and create safer, more inclusive, and resilient learning environments.
